Korean boy band JYJ, composed of members Jaejoong, Yuchun and Junsu, will kick off their second world tour in April, according to the group's promoter Prain Inc. on Friday.
A press release by Prain announced that the trio will embark on their tour titled "JYJ World Tour Concert in 2011" which will begin in Bangkok of Thailand on April 2 and continue into 10 cities including in Asian countries Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and in the North American regions of Canada and New York, Washington D.C, San Francisco in the U.S.
"The boys will hold a series of shows starting April 2 till 3 in Bangkok and resume promoting their album for two months on their world tour while they will hold the final leg of the show in Korea," CEO Back Chang-ju of C-Jes Entertainment was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, JYJ member Jaejoong, who had previously planned and directed the boys' past performances, has taken over the role of the chief stage director for the upcoming five shows in Asia.
"Jaejoong has also shown great interest in stage directing and the experts overseas have trust his direction after seeing JYJ's past concerts," Back explained on why they chose Jaejoong for the director role.
Jaejoong, Yuchun and Junsu made their debut in 2004 as part of popular boy band TVXQ, but despite their phenomenal success in Asia, they ceased their activities as a group after becoming involved in a legal dispute with the Korean agency SM Entertainment.
They made their comeback to the music scene in October of last year as a trio under the name JYJ and released their record in mid-October after which they held a global showcase and held their first concert as JYJ.
The group is set to hold a fan meeting on March 12 at the Jamsil Gymnasium where they will perform a total of five songs and tracks from their music essay "Their Rooms," while tickets for the event sold out in 15 minutes since going on sale yesterday.
