Korean female idols Girls' Generation will release their third Japanese single in late-April, according to the group's Japanese agency Universal Music Japan.

Universal Music's official website showed Wednesday that the girls' upcoming single ¡°MR. TAXI/Run Devil Run," which was scheduled to hit stores on April 13, will be available in three different editions on April 27.

Japanese recording companies AVEX, Sony Music and Universal Music have pushed back the release date of new albums which were set to go on sale this month following the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11 which has left at least 21,000 people dead or missing and thousands homeless.

"MR. TAXI" will be the group's first original single in Japanese which is not a translation of their previous hit songs in Korea, making it the group's third single after "Gee" and "GENIE" both of which were released last year that placed within the top spots on the prestigious Oricon music chart.

Meanwhile, the girls are gearing up for their tour in Japan starting May where they will perform a total of seven shows in four cities including Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka.

Girls' Generation, one of the most well-known female idol groups in Asia, made their debut in Korea in 2007 under SM Entertainment with their first album "Into the New World" and has since produced a several hit songs including "Gee," "Genie" and "Oh!"

The group then debuted in Japan in August of last year and have enjoyed much success there as well, becoming the first Korean girl group to place No.1 on the Oricon chart and wining several gold disc status for their albums which sold over 100,000 copies including for their first and second album ¡°Genie¡± ¡°Gee¡± and DVD ¡°á´Ò³ãÁÓÛÓ𠢦ìíÑÀÒ·ÚNew Beginning of Girls' Generation.¡±
