The biggest names in the K-pop industry will get together in Japan in two months time, holding a charity concert for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit the country last month.
The official homepage for the event said that the Korea-Japan joint concert, titled ¡°Seoul-Osaka Music of Heart 2011 FIGHTING JAPAN,¡± will be held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka on June 7.
About 10 of the best known idol groups in Korea including TVXQ, 2PM, MBLAQ, U-Kiss, T-ARA and 4minute, as well as several more artists who have yet to be announced, will take part in the concert hosted by Korean public channel SBS.
The eastern part of Japan was hit by an earthquake and tsunami on March 11, leaving over 21,000 people dead or missing and thousands homeless.
Recovery has been slow and painful with damage being done to the country¡¯s nuclear power plants that has led to the leakage of vast amounts of radiation that has contaminated the eastern part of the region and its sea.
Many Korean celebrities and K-pop artists have joined in efforts to provide rescue and relief to Japan, through various ways including making cash donations, holding charity concerts and handing out goods such as blankest and medical service units.
