Korean female idols 2NE1 have announced their comeback to the local music scene, raising anticipation amongst fans on their return.
The announcement of 2NE1¡¯s return on May 12 was made during 2NE1 member Park Bom¡¯s live performance of her solo song "DON'T CRY" on YG's Internet broadcaster "YG ON AIR" on April 29.
The live video revealed a scene with the phrase saying, "The girls will be coming soon...May 12" as well as unveiling 2NE1's next single titled "LONELY" from their upcoming mini-album.
"LONELY" will the girls' second song from their mini-album, composed of a total of six songs which they will promote by revealing a new track every three weeks.
"The song 'LONELY' is unlike any of the other songs that we have sung," the members of 2NE1 explained, while Park Bom said that she cried listening to the song and was immersed in it.
Composed of other members CL, Sandara Park and Minzy, 2NE1 made their debut in May 2009. They have released a score of hit songs including "Fire," "I Don't Care" and "Try to Follow Me."
The quartet made a successful comeback to the music scene in September last year with the release of their first full-length album "To Anyone." They topped a number of online and offline music charts with their title tracks "GO AWAY," "CLAP YOUR HANDS" and "CAN'T NOBODY" which they promoted simultaneously.
