An upcoming horror film starring idol group T-ara’s member Hyomin, has cranked in, according to the film’s promoter SISTER’S PR on Friday.

A press release by SISTER’S revealed that film “Gisaengryeong” (translated into “Parasite Soul”) about a ghost child carrying out brutal murders by possessing the body of another person, went into shoot yesterday at a studio in Pocheon of Gyeonggi Province.

Hyomin, who will play teenage girl Yoo-rin who starts seeing strange visions around her, went into a pool to shoot a scene in which she hallucinates.

“I practiced enough for the scene underwater but it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be once I got into the water. It helped me a lot to see director Yang Yoon-ho and the crew join me inside the water though,” Hyomin was quoted as saying in the statement.

She added that she was also inspired by child actor Lee Hyung-suk who was also at the scene and decided not to stress herself out too much throughout the filming.

Hyomin, on the sideline also wished good luck to her bandmate Eun-jung who will star in a separate horror film titled “White,” set for screening in early June, but hoped for “even better luck” for her own movie.

“Gisaengryeong,” which is to be Asia’ first 3D-horror film, is set to premiere around August of this year.

It will also star actress Han Eun-jung as Hyomin’s older sister Seo-ni who becomes the first person to find out about the existence of the parasite soul and actor No Min-woo from SBS series “Midas,” as inspector Cheol-woong, who investigates a murder case of an old couple.
