Singer BoA has celebrated the tenth year since making her debut in the Japanese music industry.
Through a message on her Twitter account, BoA wrote, "Thanks for all of your greeting messages about my 10th anniversary in Japan. Wish I could be there with you, but we will see each other soon."
She also responded that she was extremely moved by a surprise event her staff put together for her with a cake and wine.
BoA, 24, is one of the most successful K-pop artists in Korea who made a splash into the music industry in 2000 with first album "ID: Peace B" featuring her single "ID: Peace B" and "Sara."
She made her debut in Japan the following year with the same record, this time as a single, which ranked 20th on the prestigious Oricon's weekly singles chart.
She placed numerous singles atop the chart with releases that followed, earning her the reputation of being the first Korean artist to make a major breakthrough in the Japanese music industry.
BoA is now working on her Hollywood debut film titled ¡°COBU 3D¡± starring former ¡°Dancing with the Stars¡± champion Derek Hough.
The pic helmed by famed director Duane Adler who previously penned "Step Up" (2006) and "Save the Last Dance" (2001) will tell the story of two dancers (played by BoA and Hough) who grow up in different environments and meet each other at an underground club in New York.
