Actress Lee Na-young got into a car accident yesterday while filming a movie but has suffered only slight injuries, according to police on Thursday.

Lee, 31, was riding a motorcycle for her upcoming film tentatively titled "Howling" in the North Chungcheong Province of Korea on Wednesday when she crashed with a car whose driver has been identified only by his last name Jung, police explained.

Jung testified he had failed to see that the movie was being shot while adding that he drove in because he was given permission to pass.

Nonetheless, Lee suffered minor injuries from the accident since both she and the car were driving slowly and she returned to her lodging after receiving basic medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

"Howling," also starring top Korean actor Song Kang-ho, will tell about two detectives in charge of violent crimes trying to unravel the case of a serial murder caused by spontaneous combustion which is also linked with a wolf-dog.

Director Yoo Ha of "A Dirty Carnival" and "A Frozen Flower" fame is taking the reigns for the movie which cranked in early this year.

Lee has been one of the most popular actresses in Korea since her debut in 1998 and has starred in dramas “KAIST,” “Ruler of Your Own World” and “Ireland.”

She also made stepped onto the big screen with roles in “Dream,” “Maundy Thursday” “Teach Me English” and “Someone Special.”

Her most recent project was KBS’ action series “Fugitive: Plan B” also starring singer-actor Rain and actor Daniel Henney.
