BEAST to participate in MTV music fest in Malaysia next month

Boy group BEAST has been chosen to represent Korea at this year¡¯s MTV world music festival set for late July, announced their agency Cube Entertainment on Tuesday.

Cube explained in a press release that BEAST will take to the main stage of the "MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia 2011 (WSLIM 2011)" scheduled to take place live at i-City in Shah Alam city on July 24.

¡°It is a great honor to go to Malaysia alongside other renowned singers from around the globe...... We can hardly wait for our fans to see us performing on stage live,¡± BEAST's members were quoted as saying in the statement, expressing anticipation for the show that will be aired in over 160 nations.

BEAST will be the second K-pop group ever to take part in the show following the Wonder Girls participation at the event the previous year.

Other prestigious artists attending the show will include Thirty Second To Mars that won the award for best rock video at the MTV Video Music Award.

Composed of members Du-jun, Hyun-seung, Yo-seop, Dong-woon, Gi-kwang and Jun-hyung, BEAST made their debut in October 2009 with their first mini-album ¡°"BEAST IS THE B2ST" and has since produced hit songs such as ¡°Bad Girl,¡± ¡°SHOCK" and ¡°Soom.¡±

They debuted in Japan with their first Japanese single ¡°SHOCK," which was placed second on Japan's Oricon weekly chart in mid-March and is set to promote its second Japanese single ¡°Bad Girl¡± in the same country from today and kick off with their aforementioned Asia fan meeting tour starting in Malaysia on July 1.
