Boy band SHINee have reached second place on Japan's prestigious Oricon chart with their first Japanese single.
According to Oricon¡¯s official website on Thursday, the Korean idol group was ranked No. 2 on Oricon daily singles chart with their first Japanese single ¡°Replay - ÏÖªÏÜҪΠeverything¡± (translated into "Reply - You are my everything") that sold 50,270 copies upon its release yesterday.
Over 120,000 copies of ¡°Replay,¡± which is the Japanese version of SHINee¡¯s 2008 hit song in Korea, were shipped to Japan despite it being the boys' debut single.
Their debut in Japan has received much attention, being highlighted by Oricon's news earlier this month and for their live performance at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London, United Kingdom which was the showcase for their Japan debut.
The group will hold their nationwide fan tour in Japan titled "SHINee JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION TOUR" which will be held in Fukuoka on July 22, Kobe the following day, Tokyo on July 27 and 28, Sapporo on August 8 and Nagoya on August 11.
Separately, SHINee will also attend the MTV Music Aid Japan (VMAJ) with Korean female idol group Girls¡¯ Generation, scheduled to take place at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center in Chiba Prefecture on June 25.
Composed of members Key, Minho, Jonghyun, Onew and Taemin, SHINee is one of Korea's most popular male groups who made their debut in 2008 under major talenthouse SM Entertainment. They have produced a number of hit songs including "Reply," "Ring Ding Dong" and "LUCIFER."
