KARA [Chae Ki-won/10Asia] |
Five-member girl group KARA will unveil their upcoming local album next month, their first release in the country in ten months.
"KARA will make their comeback to Korea sometime in mid-September with a new album," an official from their agency DSP Media was quoted as saying. "So far, the girls have finished working on about 70~80 percent of it."
The new album will also be their first release since their dispute earlier this year when members Han Seungyeon, Kang Jiyoung and Nicole Jung declared they would split from their agency DSP Media.
After that, KARA had continued promoting themselves in Japan but halted their activities back home until deciding in late April, to stay with DSP.
Since then, they had only made a few TV appearances and held a fan meeting in mid-June.
KARA, also composed of members Gu Hara and Park Gyu-lee, is one of the most successful Korean girl groups to break into the Japanese market and are preparing for their fan meeting in Japan on August 6.
Locally, the girls will be performing at the "Incheon Korean Music Wave 2011" to be held at Incheon Munhak Worldcup Stadium on August 13. They will be joined by a number of other K-pop including Super Junior, 2PM, Girls' Generation, 2NE1, BEAST, MBLAQ, CNBLUE and FTIsland.
