Korean rock band CNBLUE has been denied entry into Japan due to Visa problems, according to their agency FNC Music.
An official with FNC told 10Asia over the phone on Wednesday that CNBLUE, who arrived at Haneda Airport in Tokyo earlier today, faced complications since they were not issued a Visa to enter the country.
"CNBLUE's agency in Japan informed us that the boys did not need a Visa for this visit since it was for unprofitable reasons but the customs office rejected their entry saying that they will need a Visa because their activities will lead to future profits later on," she explained.
The quartet was scheduled to meet with various media outlets for interviews regarding their official debut in the country on September 1 as well as shoot the music video for their Japanese single.
The official added that the group is currently still at Haneda Airport but are most likely to reschedule their activities due to the current circumstances.
In Japan, Koreans are given a 90-day no-Visa term if their visit is for vacation purposes while a Visa must be obtained if profits are made through their activities like concerts.
CNBLUE, composed of members Jung Yong-hwa, Kang Min-hyuk, Lee Jung-shin and Lee Jong-hyun, is best known for their hit songs "Alone," "Love Light" and "Intuition."
The boys will hold their concert in Korea titled "BLUESTORM" which will take place at Seoul's Olympic Hall on September 17 and 18. They will then embark on their Asia tour in several neighboring countries.
