SBS talent show "KPOP STAR" [SBS]

Major broadcaster SBS' talent show "KPOP STAR" will go on air starting December 4.

A press release by SBS said on Tuesday that the much-anticipated program starring pop sensation BoA, JYP Entertainment founder and producer Park Jin-young and YG Entertainment C.E.O Yang Hyun-suk, will show on Sundays at 6:40 p.m.

"KPOP STAR" had garnered attention since its planning stages months ago since it will be the first time that the major figures of JYP, YG and SM Entertainment, the latter which trained BoA, have come together to discover the next K-pop star.

On the show that will be in the format of a survival competition, the three will judge talents from all over the world on various aspects such as singing and dancing.

The winner will receive prize money and secure a contract with one of the three talent firms through which he or she will release an album.

So far, the show has held three rounds of auditions, officials with the show have said.
