Boy band 2PM will perform at Japan's Nippon Budokan for six days next summer, the longest time for a K-pop act to take the stage of the prestigious arena in Tokyo.
A press release by the boys' agency JYP Entertainment said on Friday that the news was announced at their latest Japan tour "REPUBLIC OF 2PM" which started in Osaka early this month and wrapped up at the Budokan on Wednesday.
The upcoming string of performances at the Budokan will be early in the summer which the agency said will "be a new challenge the boys are taking on."
2PM, who made their debut in Japan a year ago, recently took second place on Oricon's chart for the ranking of sales by new artists for the year 2011 and first amongst new Korean artists.
Their recent Japan tour was their first arena tour and they will now carry out their activities in Korea until the end of the year.
