JTBC TV series "Happy Ending" - Monday/Tuesday 8:45 p.m.
This is a drama that left the viewers asking a lot of questions with just the first episode. It left a kind of impression with its combination of Kim Doo-soo's (Choi Min-soo) situation where he went in for a medical check up after complaining about back pains and the drama's title "Happy Ending." On top of that, how the mom, who passed down her lifestyle to her eldest daughter, jokingly displays her affection to her like old friends and the different set ups such as the unrighteous job that Kim has a reporter triggers a deja vu, which we have seen before in other endings for the lead character. And of course, if the drama doesn't need to plot a twist if it unfolds a mind game to the viewers. However, one can surely say that the first episode of "Happy Ending" doesn't arouse any tension, in that the viewers can completely grasp each character that appears in the series. What was worse is that the subject of the series is nothing new and expectations will probably blow over.

For a predictable series, its hangs on the line on how it overcomes the process of its subtlely and distinction. The comparison and the realistic portrayal of the relationship between the couple in their forties or the alumni community is one of the unique points in watching "Happy Ending." Some of the driving forces of the drama may be how actor Choi is able to get rid of his overwhelming charisma and portray a character who is 'the tired head of a household' and the casting of the leading females -- Shim Hye-jin and Lee Seung-yeon -- with them showing two distinctly different images. And it is because at times, in a predictable story, the distinction of an actor's charm is shown, however, the younger generation characters are simple and the description is only functional. Even the commotion and its cheerfulness leaves a confusing impression and though its composition is to bring harmony amongst the different generations, its first step would be to bring consolation to that audience instead. At least, it will have to work in order to arrive at a happy ending.
