KARA to return to local music scene with new album

Breaking out from their year-long hiatus, five-member girl group KARA will return to the local music scene with a new album later this month.
DSP Media revealed in a press release Friday that KARA will mark their comeback with a fifth mini-album set to drop in late August.
The girls' promoted their third full-length effort "STEP" for a total of three weeks in Korea after dropping it in September 2011. Soon after the short promotion, they have since focused on their singing careers abroad and individual activities.
The DSP officials explained that KARA has been working on the forthcoming album for quite some time now, while concurrently fulfilling their overseas activities.
The album features more mature image of KARA and its soon-to-be-revealed teaser pictures will hint more about the girls' next concept, the reps noted.
Composed of Gu Hara, Han Seung-yeon, Park Gyu-lee, Kang Ji-young and Nicole, KARA is currently one of the most successful Korean girl groups that has broken into the Japanese music market.
Proving their popularity built over the years in Japan, KARA has achieved gold statuses 11 times with their singles since making their official debut in the country in 2010.
