KARA will soon be joining the battle of K-pop girl groups in two weeks.

Countdown to the release of the KARA's long-awaited fifth mini-album on August 22 has begun and the girls unveiled a mysterious teaser photo for the new record on their official website Monday.

In the photo posted on the website, the idol singers' comeback date is written on a glowing cube with a question mark on the top. Officials of DSP Entertainment, KARA's agency, has not given any explanation on what the teaser infers about the next album.

To warm up before launching their music activities this year, the "STEP" singers will hold a showcase at the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill Hotel's Gayageum Hall in Seoul, Korea on the day of the release.

DSP Entertainment reps said Monday that KARA members are brainstorming together to design the event's program to repay for their fans who have been waiting for the singers for over a year.

In the meantime, the girls will soon fly into the United States for a large-scale K-pop concert titled "2012 K-POP SUPER CONCERT IN AMERICA," which will be held in Los Angeles' Home Deport Center on August 10.

Other big name K-Pop stars, such as Girl’s Generation, 2PM, 2AM, CNBLUE and MBLAQ, will share the stage with KARA.
