How many songs a singer has sang in TV series soundtracks may be one of the reliable barometers of popularity here in the K-pop music scene.

Three Korean indie artists have added their names to the long list of artists that are producing an array of hits by taking part in TV' series soundtracks.

MBC's medial drama "Golden Time" has excited the viewers and music lovers by introducing three soundtracks filled with songs by indie musicians 10cm, Verbal Jint and Every Single Day.

The unusual idea to fill in the record with indie sounds came from director Kwon Seok-jang and musical director Moon Seong-nam, who have worked together in MBC¡¯s dramas ¡°Pasta¡± (2010) and ¡°My Princess¡± (2011).

While the first soundtrack "Golden Time OST," lists six songs all sang by Every Single Day, the second and third soundtracks each have five and two tracks produced by 10cm and Verbal Jint.

Composed of Moon and two other members, band Every Single Day made their debut in the Korean indie music scene with the debut album "Broken Street" in 1999.

Additionally, Korean indie music scene¡¯s superstar 10cm tried its first contemporary tune ¡°One Day¡± composed by musical director Moon.

10cm shot to fame with their legendary song ¡°Americano" featuring funny and straightforward lyrics. They have become more famous after appearing on MBC¡¯s legendary variety show ¡°Infinite Challenge.¡± The duo recently rolled out the single "Only U" on June 18, which is also main theme of tvN's ongoing drama "In Need of Romance," which hit the airwaves on June 20.

Hip-hop artist Verbal Jint composed and wrote all two tracks by himself including the track ¡°I Get Weak," featuring R&B melody on hip-hop drumming sounds.

Verbal Jint made his debut in 1999 and recently made his appearance on cable channel Mnet¡¯s popular hip-hop survival program "Show Me the Money" that kicked off the run on June 22.
