While the whole nation is exuberating heaps of energy for the 2012 London Olympics, major broadcasters KBS and MBC aired their Monday and Tuesday primetime TV series.

MBC’s “Golden Time” stretched its winning streak this week after earning 14.1 percent of the total viewers on its ninth episode on Monday, according to the compiled data by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics).

The tenth episode of "Golden Time" has been cancelled due to the broadcaster's live coverage of the men's and women's gymnastics finals and the women's duet synchronized swimming final.

The medical drama, starring actor Lee Sun-kyun and actress Hwang Jung-eum, has been drawing much attention from TV critics and the audience with its delicate portrayal of doctors and patients in a general hospital.

KBS also aired its TV series “Lovers of Haeundae,” which kicked off its first run on August 6. The romantic comedy drama saw an average rating of 10 percent on the chart this week.

The TV series focuses on the sweet romance between a prosecutor (played by Kim Kang-woo) who suffers from amnesia and the daughter of an infamous gang living in the city of Busan (played by Cho Yeo-jung).

Meanwhile, broadcaster SBS is scheduled to air the first episode of “The Faith,” starring Lee Min-ho and Kim Hee-sun, on August 13.

The upcoming drama goes around the story of a warrior from the Koryo Dynasty [portrayed by Lee] transcending time and space to meet a female doctor [played by Kim] living in the present.

On the AGB Nielson Media Research poll, “Golden Time” nabbed the first place by attracting 13.2 percent of viewers during the same time frame.

“Lovers of Haeundae” followed next with an average rating of 10.9 percent on August 6 and 7.
