"My Husband" renews No. 1 record on weekly TV ratings chart

KBS¡¯ drama ¡°My Husband Got a Family¡± has enjoyed another week of staying atop the weekly TV ratings chart by registering its highest-ever record.
The Kim Nam-joo and Yoo Jun-sang starrer topped the chart for the 24th consecutive week after attracting 43.1 percent of the audience during the fifth week of August, according to data polled by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics).
Keeping its number over the 40 percent mark for three straight weeks, the weekend series broke another record of its own ahead of its grand final episode next week.
On last weekend's episodes aired on September 1 and 2, the popular main couple of the drama nearly faced a break up crisis.
While Ei-sook [played by Cho Youn-hee] turned down Jae-young¡¯s [played by Lee Hee-jun] unexpected proposal, Sae-kwang [played by CNBLUE¡¯s Kang Min-hyuk] decided to get married to his lover, Mal-suk [played by Oh Yeon-seo], before starting his two-year mandatory military service.
With a huge gap from the chart-topper, KBS¡¯ daily series ¡°Reaching for the Stars¡± sat at the second place on the chart, drawing in 27.3 percent of the total viewers during the same time frame.
KBS¡¯ comedy program ¡°Gag Concert¡± and the broadcaster's ¡°9 o¡¯clock News¡± each landed at No. 3 and No. 4, registering 24.4 and 22.2 percent ratings respectively.
Next up on the chart is KBS' "Bridal Mask," the chart-topper of Wednesday and Thursday primetime slot, rounded out the top five with ratings of 21.1 percent.
Other programs in the top ten include SBS'¡°I Like Sundays,¡± MBC¡¯s ¡°Angel¡¯s choice," MBC¡¯s ¡°Infinite Challenge,¡± KBS¡¯ ¡°KBS News Plaza - Part 2,¡± MBC¡¯s ¡°May Queen,¡± in order of placement.
In the meantime, AGB Nielson Media Research¡¯s data announced this morning showed slightly different numbers with ¡°My Husband Got a Family¡± firmly grabbing its top seed.
While the family drama marked 38.6 percent of the total viewers last week, "Reaching for the Stars¡± and ¡°9 o¡¯clock News¡± followed next, each with 27 and 22.4 percent ratings, respectively.
