K-pop idol L of boy band INFINITE may expand his acting career by starring in an upcoming MBC sitcom.
An official from Lune Communication told the magazine over the phone that L is in the final process of signing on for MBC's new sitcom "What's the Deal, Mom?" [Romanized title], which will air on October 8 as the follow-up to "Stand-by."
"If L decides to play the role, it will be his first acting role in a sitcom. It will give him a chance to show a different and comic side of himself as an actor," the rep explained.
L made his debut as one of the main vocalist in seven-member boy band INFINITE in 2010 and expanded his career into acting with a lead role in the Japanese TV series "Jiu: Keishichou Tokushuhan Sousakei" in 2011.
He also played the role of a member in a boy band in tvN's TV series "Shut Up and Let's Go" early this year.
INFINITE released their third Japanese single "She's back" and is gearing up to launch their first arena tour dubbed "Second Invasion - Evolution in Japan Arena Tour 2012."
