Riding the wave of popularity from his dance tune "Gangnam Style," PSY will be making his way to the upcoming 2012 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) later this week.

PSY's manager Hwang Kyu-wan told the magazine over the phone Tuesday that the "Gangnam Style" singer will rub shoulders with world renowned singers at the MTV VMA, which will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on September 6 (September 7 KST).

"PSY will attend the annual ceremony even though he wasn’t nominated for an award or set to perform at the show," Hwang said.

When asked about PSY's other scheduled activities in the United States, the official said that the comic singer will attend several meetings with entertainment industry affiliates and return back to Korea.

Causing a worldwide syndrome of "Gangnam Style," PSY's catchy tune and dance caught the eyes and ears of music lovers since its release on July 15.

Meanwhile, PSY's music video for the song is looking to breach the 100 million mark after hitting over 97 million views on YouTube as of September 4 at 11 a.m. KST.
