The World's first large-scale Hallyu convention is about to open its curtains in the United States next month.

KCON will launch its first edition at the Irvine Amphitheater in Irvine, California on October 13, an official from Mnet told the magazine over the phone Friday.

Hosted by Korean cable music channel Mnet's American branch, the KCON 2012 will introduce various cultural programs ranging from autograph sessions to singing and dancing auditions and fan workshops, the official said.

The one-day event will go on a high note by opening a concert packed with popular K-pop acts, including 4minute, B.A.P, VIXX, EXO-M and many yet-to-be-determined artists.

Organizers of KCON revealed on its official website that they hope to establish an annual event that will improve the American fan experience by providing an affordable way for them to communicate with Korean stars in the flesh.
