K-pop boy group BEAST member Jang Hyun-seung’s father has passed away from a sudden heart attack.

An official with his agency Cube Entertainment told the magazine over the phone Thursday that Jang’s father, who did not suffer from any illnesses, passed away this morning.

“Jang is currently at a funeral home in the Gyeonggi Province with his mother and sister," the Cube official said.

She added that his fellow BEAST members are on their way to pay their respects to their groupmate's father.

Jang made his debut in 2009 as the lead vocalist of BEAST, one of the most popular idol groups both in and out of Korea.

They made their comeback to the local music scene in July with their fifth mini-album “Midnight Sun.”
