Korean broadcaster SBS' singing competition program will return for the second season next month.

With all three original judges--BoA, Park Jin-young and Yang Hyun-suk--staying on the judging panel, "KPOP STAR 2" will launch on November 18, according to Korea’s entertainment news agency STAR NEWS’ report Wednesday.

The broadcaster has reportedly been auditioning contestants in New York, Los Angeles, Sydney, Vancouver and England. The number of accepted contestants are more than a double of what the producer had initially planned, the report said.

The first season of “KPOP STAR” had garnered big attention from the viewers by bringing outstanding contestants into the show including the three finalists Park Ji-min, Lee Hi and Baek A-yeon.

The three judges, who represent the Korea's major talent agencies, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and YG Entertainment, mentors and judges aspiring musicians on the weekly show.

Based on their singing talents and potential, the judges choose contestants they hope to train under the firm. The three finalists of the last season have all made their debut or announced their debut date this year.
