Korean heartthrob Lee Seung-gi has been cast as one of the male leads in a new drama, while miss A member Suzy is also on board.
The actor and singer has confirmed his cast in his first historical drama “Gugaeuiseo” [in Romanized Korean], which will hit the airwaves in the first half of next year, according to local media outlets including Chosun Ilbo's reports Friday.
Breaking out from his five-month hiatus in the small screen, Lee will reportedly play a half-man-half-beast character in the forthcoming fantasy tale.
Meanwhile, miss A’s Suzy is reviewing the work with positive attitude but has not decided to join the project yet, an official from her agency JYP Entertainment told the magazine over the phone Friday.
Bringing more good news to soap opera lovers, the period drama will reportedly be helmed by director Shin Woo-chul of popular dramas “Secret Garden” (SBS, 2010-2011) and “Gentleman’s Dignity” (SBS, 2012).
The drama is penned by scenarist Kang Eun-kyung of "Bread, Love and Dreams" (KBS, 2010) and "Glory Jane" (KBS, 2011).
