Looking closely at Woo¡¯s pieces, they are centered on a human body and every energy shows liquidity over the whole screen. Every vibration and echo is visualized. Humans are accidentally thrown into this world but Wool substitutes realism for it. In other words, the being of the family around one, or the being of being related in this and that way is not a being which can be accidentally interested. In other words, for him, every human relationship is connected in a circular loop.

Future, with an extraordinary loving sight, he believes that there would be a real being on which an existence of a self is recognized. For the artist, this reality is arranged by this encounter. What his screen repeats expansion, bulging and contraction is a witness to what every being or existence is interconnected. Thus, in his pieces, a space in which people lives is a center. Despite a huge number of works, a theme over the whole pieces is not discursive. A unstable psychology of modern people who are taken a hostage to a visible world of a material takes a center position. In addition, despite our reality is dry and tough, he does not betray love and trustfulness on human affairs. This would be a way how Woo looks at the world.

Woo¡¯s works would be a rare case which physical phenomena which science witnesses are shown in an artistic way. Particularly, it is a case which a natural science theory is drawn into art. The thing that he applied a professional theory to a pure flat painting and tried to identify the relationship is obviously an extraordinary attempt. Diverse languages, in particular, involving visual-perceptional echo, delivery of voice, disassembly and assembly and analysis represents a measurelessness of his explorative domain for the universe and a human body space.

He has been immersed in only one theme for about 30 years. It is different from what just like we easily imagine, you would be sunk into materialism or mannerism. His material and theme have steadily evolved in a theoretical aspect. For Woo, paintings and his canvas were one universe. They were a comprehensive thought itself for the world.

Looking back on, his works have an interdisciplinary factor frequently mentioned recently. He attempted to draw the theory from another field different from art and created a new type of art. He sought to enlarge thought and imagination which art is able to give through a special interest in a professional field. He makes us open our eyes to the universe and human beings which we have not seen even though we have an eye and listen to the echo of which we have not heard even though we have an ear till now. The only way which he could select to play such a role was a way of thinking in a complex dimension.

His works recommend to us to go to see and listen because there is our life over there and feel the energy over there altogether. He ask a question that I as at least an artist see the world like this while how you look at the world. If you could get a value of the expansion of perception and the world via his works from a perspective of an appreciator, it would not be a larger desire for him as an artist. Woo¡¯s works give such feeling and resonance.

Woo Chang Hoon was born in 1954 Seoul, South Korea. Studied fine art at Chung Ang University, won special prize-The 1st Chung Ang Art Exhibition(1978). After graduation he became a member of Korean Association of Figurative Art for 10 years, Won the Gold Prize of Korean Association of Figurative Art for twice (1985, 1992). Woo is painting on over 35 years as a professional artist, had 14th Solo exhibition this year (2012), also participate Cologne, Singapore, Miami art fairs and group exhibition these days.
