Girl group Secret [TS Entertainment]

Four-member girl group Secret was named the winner on the latest episode of KBS' “Music Bank” while Seungri from male band Big Bang took the trophy from SBS’ Inkigayo.”

Secret’s “Shy Boy” was ranked No.1 on the K-chart of “Music Bank” according to the show’s website displayed today, beating other contenders such as IU’s “Good Day,” and TVXQ’s “Why (Keep Your Head Down)," making it the first time for the group to take the crown on a public network.

The show itself did not air on Friday however, due to overlapping with the 2011 Asian Winter Games and other special Lunar New Year programs.

Composed of members, Jun Hyo-seong, Han Sun-hwa, Song Ji-eun and Zinger, the group debuted in October 2009 with their digital single, “I Want You Back,” the group is also well known for their other hit songs “Magic” and “Madonna.”

Meanwhile Seungri, currently pursuing a solo singing career away from his five-member male group, won the Mutizen Award on “Inkigayo” aired on Sunday with his song “WHAT CAN I DO,” one of the two title tracks to his first mini-album “V.V,I.P.”

Seungri scored the highest amongst other popular singers including GD&T.O.P., Secret, MBLAQ, G.NA, and Navi.

“Thank you so much. I’ll do my best in 2011 but always remain humble in attitude,” said Seungri in his acceptance speech. He then added, “Big Bang’s comeback is imminent."

GD and T.O.P, who are the other two members of Big Bang, gave a playful performance during his acceptance speech.

Five-member group Big Bang, also composed of other members Taeyang and Daesung, is set for a large-scale concert from February 25 to 27.
