Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk was the most-searched Hallyu star on search engine Google Japan in 2011, according to his agency Tree J. Company.

Tree J. said in a press release on Monday that the star came in at No. 1 under the 'Hallyu' category, as well as in fifth place under the newsmaker segment and third in terms of all male celebrities.

"I believe this happened since I led an active career in Japan this year with my arena tour and my concert at the Tokyo Dome and I will continue to work hard to repay my fans in the country for always showing their support," Jang said in the statement.

Jang has been popular in Japan since starring in 2009 drama "He's Beautiful" which has been remade in the country and he has led a successful singing career there as well.

He held a sold-out arena tour concert in the country in October which attracted over a total 60,000 fans and sold all 44,000 tickets to his Tokyo Dome concert last month.

Jang recently starred in romantic comedy "You Are My Pet" which will open in over 100 theaters in Japan next month and is currently shooting TV series "Love Rain" (tentative title) opposite Girls' Generation member Yoona.
