Hallyu star Kim Hyun-joong has been seeing his popularity grow even more lately, with his second Japanese single topping more charts on Oricon every week.

Kim has registered high sales of around 183,000 copies in just a week after the album went on sale on July 4, Oricon's website showed.

This is a record-breaking feat for Kim, whose Japanese debut single "Kiss Kiss/Lucky Guy" came in second place on the same chart with 122,000 editions sold in January.

His debut single was a success as well, as it later achieved the gold status in Japan, a music recording certification given by Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) to artists that has sold over 100,000 copies for one album.

Meanwhile, HEAT,” the collaborative album with famous Japanese musician B’z, is consisted of the title track of the same name and “Let’s Party.” The two-track set holds Kim’s unique danceable rhythm and addictive melody in harmony.

Kim, who signed with Universal Music Japan in November last year, met with several thousand fans in Osaka, Odaiba and Nagoya for hand-shaking sessions last week.

He is slated to stage a collaborative performance with Naoto Inti Raymi at the pair's "DOUBLE FANTASISTA 'GREAT ASSIST,'" which will be held at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on July 14.

The officials said the artist will also hold two sets of his showcase "Kim Hyun Joong “HEAT” 2012 in JAPAN" at the same venue on July 15.
