MBC "Tale of Arang" and KBS "The Innocent Man" is framing the Wednesday and Thursday primetime lineup battle into a two-way race.

"Tale of Arang" outperformed "The Innocent Man" and maintained its top place for the second week in a row with a solid number of 15.1 percent on Wednesday and Thursday's ratings chart, TNmS [Total National Multimedia Statistics] showed Friday.

Starring actor Lee Joon-gi and Shin Mina, the historical fantasy has captivated the audience by delicately portraying hopeless love between district magistrate Eun-oh [played by Lee] and female ghost Arang [played by Shin].

Chasing closely after the chart-topper, “The Innocent Man" earned the support of 13.9 percent of the total viewers during the same time frame.

The Song Joong-ki and Moon Chae-won starrer has been showing some increase in popularity after soon after kicking off the run with a comparably soft launch of 11 percent last week.

The romantic TV series drew much attention from the viewers this week by explaining the background of Ahn Min-young’s [played by Kim Tae-hoon] love to Han Jae-hee, who is played by one of the female leads Park Si-yeon.

SBS idol-studded drama “For You in Full Blossoms,” starring SHINee’s Minho and f(x)’s Sulli, came last with its less-than-stellar ratings between four to five percent.

In the meantime, AGB Nielson Media Research chart showed "The Innocent Man" sat at No. 1 after beating off "Tale of Arang" during the fourth week of September.

While "The Innocent Man" grabbed the top seed with 13.6 percent, "Tale of Arang" and "For You in Full Blossoms" followed next with 13.5 and 4.4 percent, respectively.
