Jae-Ha ParkDeputy Dean, the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI)
Dr. Jae-Ha Park is the Deputy Dean at the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). Prior to joining ADBI in October 2011, he worked for the Korea Institute of Finance as Vice President and Chief Economist, etc.

He has served in numerous public positions, such as Senior Advisor to the Minister of Finance and Economy of Korea, Director General of the Task Force for Economic Restructuring in the Office of the President of Korea, Chairman of the Committee for the Assessment of Regulations at the Financial Services Commission. In addition, he has served as a member of the Presidential Commission for Financial Reform and a member of Management Supervisory Committee at the Korea Asset management Corporation. He worked for the Bank of Korea as an economist after graduating from university.

He also has served in many important private and academic positions, such as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shinhan Bank, which is the largest commercial bank in Korea, Board member of Daewoo Securities, which is the largest security company in Korea, and as a Vice Chairman of Korea Money and Finance Association. Since the Asian financial crisis, he has been deeply involved in many projects relating to regional economic and financial cooperation under the ASEAN+3 and APEC, etc. Most notably, he played a crucial role in creating Asian Bond Market Initiatives, and ASEAN+3 Research Group activities. His areas of interest are regional economic and financial cooperation, financial market development in Asia, and financial reform after the global financial crisis. He has authored many articles and books on regional financial market development, Asian bond market development, financial reform in Korea, international finance, and money and banking.

Managing Director for Economic and Currency Research at DBS Bank in Singapore

David Carbon is Managing Director for Economic and Currency Research at DBS Bank in Singapore. He joined DBS in 2005 with 20 years¡¯ of experience covering the economies & markets of Asia and the G10 from Singapore, Hong Kong and London.

David began his banking career in Asia in 1994 with JP Morgan and was a partner and market strategist at Pacific Asset Management, a Singapore-based fixed income fund manager. In 2000, David joined WestLB A. G. to cover the economies of North Asia but was soon seconded to London to head WestLB¡¯s economic and currency research of the G10 for three years. In 2012, David was voted the Best Economist in Southeast Asia in an investor poll conducted by Alpha Southeast Asia.

Prior to his career in investment banking, Mr. Carbon taught international trade and finance at Fudan University in Shanghai and the Guangdong Engineering Institute in Guangzhou and conducted trade research as a Fellow at the Korea Development Institute in Seoul.

David graduated ¡®Phi Beta Kappa¡¯ from the University of Wisconsin and holds a Master of Philosophy in Economics from Yale University. He is fluent in Mandarin.

Wang Chaoyang is an associate research fellow from National Academy of Economic Strategy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the vice director of an academic journal Finance and Trade Economics, and Master¡¯s tutor of the graduate school of CASS. He was born in Jiangsu province China in 1981, got the bachelor degree from Shandong University in 2002, and received his Ph.D from the graduate school of CASS in 2007 and was a postdoctoral fellow.

His major research fields include financial reform, financial services industry and financial centers, also, he has much interest in services economy, and in which fields had he published two books and more than 20 papers in academic journals.

Hung Q. Tran

Hung Q. Tran is the Executive Managing Director of the Institute of International Finance (IIF), assisting in the overall management of the IIF while also leading the Capital Markets and Emerging Markets Policy Department. Prior to his work at the IIF, Mr. Tran served for six years at the International Monetary Fund as Deputy Director, Monetary and Capital Markets Department, where his responsibilities included the overall management of the Fund's semi-annual Global Financial Stability Report. He also served from 1998 to 2001 in London as the Managing Director, Chief Economist/Global Head of Research for Rabobank International.

He had spent the prior 12 years with Deutsche Bank with assignments in New York, Frankfurt and Singapore including serving as Director of Global Fixed Income Research from 1987-1990 and as Co-Founding Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Research from 1991-1995 and as Head of Equity Business for the Deutsche Bank Group in Asia-Pacific (1995-1998). Earlier in his career he had worked in international fixed income research for Merrill Lynch and Salomon Brothers in New York. Mr. Tran received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Economics from California State University and completed the doctoral program in Economics at New York University.
Mitsuhiro Fukao

Mitsuhiro Fukao has been a Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Business and Commerce of Keio University in Japan since 1997 and a Program Director of Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) since 2011. He also served as the president of Japan Center for Economic Research from 2005 to 2010. His primary fields of expertise are financial regulations, international finance, monetary economics and policy. Fukao has abundant publications in Japanese and in English on international finance, exchange rate policy, corporate governance, and recently on financial system and its crisis. Prior to joining Keio University, Fukao was the Head of the Strategic Research Division of Research and Statistics Department of the Bank of Japan. During 1991-93, Fukao was a senior economist of the OECD in Paris and a G-10 secretary. In 1989 and 1990, he was a senior economist of the International Department of the Bank of Japan and a member of Danielsson subgroup of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. During 1983-85, Fukao served as a senior economist of the Economic Planning Agency of Japan and participated in drafting the official White Paper on Japanese Economy. Born in Japan, Fukao received his bachelor's degree in Engineering from Kyoto University in 1974. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1981. He is married to Masayo Fukao, and has two children.

Chong-Hoon Park heads Korea research team and provides in-depth analysis on Korean economy to Standard Chartered Bank¡¯s clients and business functions. Having worked as an economist at the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) and as an Executive Vice President at SK Broadband (former Hanaro Telecom), Chong Hoon brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience as a researcher and business manager. He joined Standard Chartered Korea in 2009 as Head of Public Affairs and served more recently as Head of Corporate Affairs. Chong-Hoon has BS in Economics and Mathematics from University of Wisconsin-Madison, MBA from George Washington University, and Ph.D. in Economics specializing International Economics and Development from Northwestern University.
Jay Huh

Mr. Huh is a Managing Director of Korea Investment Corporation and the Head of Alternative Investments Division. As one of the founding investment managers at KIC since 2005, he was responsible for managing global public and private investment portfolios. From June 2010 to June 2013, he was a Director at the Private Markets Group based in New York and responsible for sourcing, due diligence, execution, and monitoring of alternative investments in North and Latin American region.

Prior to joining KIC, he was a Portfolio Manager at Kyobo Life Insurance Co. in Seoul, Korea and was responsible for managing of global credit investment portfolios. He also previously worked for Lehman Brothers, Credit Research Team in Tokyo, Japan as an Associate and for Samsung Corporation in Seoul.

Mr. Huh was awarded a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Robert Emmett McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese and Economics from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Korea.
